    Product Identifiers6 Questions

GTIN is the global identification standard. UPC-A is a common 12-digit barcode format within that system and is represented as GTIN-12.

Both are barcode identifier formats within the broader GTIN system. UPC-A is commonly used in North America and contains 12 digits. EAN-13 is the common European terminology for the 13-digit GTIN format.

There is no universal mathematical conversion from ASIN to EAN. The ASIN must be resolved to an Amazon product record and matched to a corresponding GTIN or EAN if one is available.

No. ASIN is an Amazon catalog identifier. UPC and EAN are commonly encoded in physical barcodes and belong to the GTIN identification system.

No. Some products, custom goods, private-label items, marketplace records or certain product categories may not have a usable GTIN.

Marketplace catalogs are not always perfectly one-to-one. Duplicate listings, catalog differences, bundles, variants or regional records can create situations where multiple Amazon records appear related to the same or closely related global identifier. This is the exception rather than the normal case.
